Fans of the late Mac Miller are hearing his voice once again thanks to a newly completed collaboration with Thundercat, who has shared “She Knows Too Much,” a track that revives an unheard verse from his late friend.

The song, polished with help from Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin, tells the story of falling for someone whose intentions may not be as genuine as they seem. The collaboration dates back to studio sessions before Miller’s passing in 2018, when keyboardist Taylor Graves joined the pair. Though the track was left unfinished for years, Thundercat recently returned to it, completing the record alongside Kurstin.

Reflecting on the experience, Thundercat shared in a press statement, “I’m grateful to have spent my time on this planet with Mac. What an artist, what a spirit, what a joy to have experienced.”

He also posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram: “What can I say about Mac Miller that hasn’t been said, shared & explored with you all. I always considered Mac a ‘one man rat pack.’ Smooth like Frank, cool like Sammy, suave like Dean. I wish that you all could have been there with us the moment this song was created in his garage. Between [Mac Miller], [Taylor Graves], [Josh Berg] & I we all knew it was something special. So happy to be able to finally share! From Faces, to Swimming in Circles, to Ballonerism and beyond… long live Mac Miller!!!”

“She Knows Too Much” appears on Thundercat’s forthcoming album Distracted, arriving April 3rd. The project follows 2020’s It Is What It Is and features collaborators including A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Tame Impala, WILLOW, Channel Tres and Flying Lotus.  Earlier singles from the album include “I Did This to Myself,” featuring Lil Yachty, as well as “No More Lies,” a 2023 collaboration with Tame Impala, and “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time.”

A psychedelic visual directed by Léa Esmaili accompanies the release of ‘She Knows Too Much,’ using a mix of animated styles to match the song.  Check it out: HERE.
