Chris Brown is gearing up for a busy season, unveiling plans for his 12th studio album, BROWN, alongside a new single and a joint tour with Usher. The project is currently slated for a May 8th release, with Brown teasing its arrival through social media and new music drops.

Leading the rollout is “Obvious,” the album’s second single, which follows the Grammy-nominated “It Depends” featuring Bryson Tiller. Usher later joined that track’s remix, continuing a long history of collaborations between the two artists, including hits like “New Flame,” “Party,” and the “Back to Sleep” remix.

To accompany the album news, Brown and Usher revealed they will co-headline a stadium run titled The R&B Tour (Raymond & Brown). The announcement came via a cinematic teaser shared online, though specific dates and cities have yet to be announced.

BROWN arrives after the success of Brown’s previous project, 11:11 (Deluxe), which earned a Grammy for Best R&B Album and produced the platinum-certified single “Residuals.”  The new album marks a milestone in Brown’s two-decade career and is expected to showcase a more personal direction, blending his signature vocal style with modern R&B production. “It’s OBVIOUS I’m tryna start the summer up! May 8th,” he wrote on Instagram while promoting the single.

Brown’s momentum follows his massive ‘Breezy Bowl XX’ tour, which celebrated his 20 year career in music. The global stadium trek pulled in nearly $300 million and sold close to two million tickets across 49 shows in North America and Europe, reinforcing his continued dominance as a live performer.
