Chicago’s South Side was overflowing with gratitude and community spirit as Streetz 95.1/103.3 FM hosted its 5th Annual Turkey Giveaway — 95 Gifts of Gratitude on Friday, November 21, delivering support and holiday relief to hundreds of local families. From 2PM–5PM, the sidewalk outside 7900 S. Halsted transformed into a powerful display of unity, hope, and hometown love.
With 500 free turkeys complete with all the trimmings, the event ensured that families across the neighborhood would have a full Thanksgiving meal without the stress of grocery costs. Lines stretched down the block, but the energy was electric as residents waited patiently, greeted by volunteers, music, and warm smiles.
The celebration featured a live DJ, cash prizes, and giveaways, keeping spirits high throughout the afternoon. The Kindness Campaign Fresh Food Market was also onsite, offering additional produce and essentials—expanding the impact beyond turkeys alone and helping families stock their kitchens heading into the holiday week.
The event was hosted by Trey The Choklit Jok, whose presence brought excitement and connection to every moment. Streetz 95.1 staff and community partners worked side-by-side to make sure no family left empty-handed.
This year’s giveaway was made possible through powerful partnerships, including the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation, Liberty Tax South Side, Strive ABA Consultants, BMN Entertainment, The Kindness Campaign, Bank of America, Williams Inn, and KIA Evergreen—all united in supporting the neighborhoods they serve.
